Enter and view at Portishead Medical Group

Our report for the findings during our enter and view visit to Portishead Medical Group on 9th January has today been published

The Enter & View team made notes of all their observations during the visit. Some of these observations included

  • The level of cleanliness was good
  • The car park has designated disabled spaces
  • The entrance doors are automatic
  • The reception desk is low and open
  • The reception staff were wearing name badges and were friendly
  • There was an electronic check in screen with hand santiser right next to it
  • There was room to get a pushchair or wheelchair around the waiting area
  • There were plenty of seats in the waiting area and some had arm rests to help patients get up
  • There were information boards that had information relevant to health and social care and were up to date.

The observations made by the team, together with the information collected from both staff and patients helps to shape the recommendations put to the practice. These are to help the practice improve the service they offer their patients. These recommendations included

  1. To improve privacy in reception you could ask the queue to wait further back from the reception desk
  2. Provide water for patients waiting
  3. The seats in the waiting area were well used and would benefit from being renewed
  4. Review the space available for Children to play in the waiting room
  5. Ensure the patient information leaflet and the website display the same information about complaints procedures
  6. Provide information boards for both the Patient Participation Group and "You said, we did"

We did not receive a response from Portishead Medical Group with regards to our recommendations.
