Our Prioritisation panel meets every quarter. It is a group made up of directors, staff and volunteers who look at the public feedback to identify issues and decide about making any recommendations, visits or referrals.

We held our 2016 AGM on Tuesday 11th October at Hans Price Building, Weston-super-Mare

Healthwatch North Somerset has identified an increase in feedback from the public relating to the issue of ‘Appointments’ and specifically around the availability of appointments and access to named GPs.

Healthwatch North Somerset has the power to enter and view any NHS health or social care service. A team of trained volunteers and staff entered and viewed Lyndhurst Park on 4th October 2016.

Healthwatch North Somerset is allowed to enter and view any health or social care service in its area. On 20th September our authorised team carried out a view of Westgate Residential Home.

On 2nd August 2016 we carried out an enter and view at Dewdown House. This was aimed at collecting as much information possible from everyone present and then making our own recommendations as to how the service could improve

At Healthwatch North Somerset, we listen to patient experiences and inform commissioners and providers about good practice and areas for service improvement.

Diabetes is a complex condition. It is a chronic metabolic disorder which increases the risk of damage to the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart and blood vessels.

On 12th July we sent a team of authorised volunteers and staff to carry out an enter and view at Ambleside Nursing Home. This was aimed at gathering as much information as we could from staff, residents and their families
