Please see below for information on a new collaboration opportunity for local services which focus on health or well-being.

If you’re a VCSE organisation working in Bristol and North Somerset and with a focus on health or wellbeing, we’re about to offer you a unique collaboration opportunity with a budget of millions per year.

Bristol Community Health (BCH) and North Somerset Community Partnership (NSCP) have approached Voscur to help them find the best collaboration partners for community health services in the area.

The aim is to win a major contract with Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (BNSSG CCG), worth up to £120 million per year. BCH and NCSP want to cover six different localities:

  • Bristol North and West
  • Bristol South
  • Inner City and East
  • Weston & Worle and Surrounding Villages
  • Woodspring (Gordano and the Rurals)
  • South Gloucestershire

That means there is funding available every year to deliver these vital community health services on your doorstep. If the bid is successful, the new contract would start in April 2020 and run for seven years, with a possible three year extension.

Both BCH and NSCP want to build stronger links between health providers and VCSE organisations, so the aim is for each local area to have one strategic partner from the VCSE sector, delivering the kind of care and activities that local people need the most. This also ties in with a new model of care based around community hubs.

Voscur is inviting organisations to an event this November in each of the five areas, supported by Voluntary Action North Somerset (VANS), where you help with the thinking about strategic partners and collaboration, and what it would involve. If your organisation covers a wider part of Bristol and its surroundings, you don’t need to attend more than one event – just pick one. As we expect these events to be popular, please only book one ticket per organisation:

  • Bristol North and West – Wednesday 14 November, 9:30am-12pm, Lawrence Weston Community Farm, Saltmarsh Drive, Bristol BS11 0NJ
  • Bristol South – Thursday 15 November, 1:30pm-4pm, The Park, Daventry Road, Filwood, Bristol BS4 1DQ
  • Inner City and East – Wednesday 14 November, 1:30pm-4pm, Phoenix Social Enterprise, 5 Russell Town Avenue, Easton, Bristol BS5 9LT
  • Weston & Worle and Surrounding Villages – Tuesday 13 November, 1:30pm-4pm, The Hive, 6 Beaufighter Road, Weston-super-Mare BS24 8EE
  • Woodspring (Gordano and the Rurals) – Tuesday 13 November, 9:30am-12pm, Nailsea Tithe Barn, Church Lane, Nailsea BS48 4NG

Organisations picked as strategic partners for the bid would start local engagement work in the community in January and February 2019.

We hope organisations like yours will want to be involved in this exciting bid, strengthening ties between the VCSE sector and people in need of important health services.
