Brand new advocacy service from Action for M.E.

A brand new advocacy service officially opens on the 1st April from Action for M.E. (South West)
Advocacy service from Action for ME

The issues they support with could include:

Housing
Health and social care  (issues with GP, inc complaints in relation to social care services)
Employment
Relationships/family
Discrimination
Access to education

The service may be of benefit, if the patient/client has CFS/M.E. and:

  • wishes their voice to be heard on issues that are important to them.
  • needs to defend and safeguard their rights.
  • wants their views and wishes genuinely considered when decisions are being made about their lives
  • does not have anyone appropriate who can support them with this
  • wants help to self-advocate or needs an advocate to represent them

The service is mostly telephone, email, video conference-based in terms of the direct support they can provide, but they have some resource for face to face advocacy support for those severely affected.
