Volunteers' Week - thank you John!

Thanks John, your work means patients' voices are heard by key decision makers at local hospitals.

Healthwatch Volunteer John Rose has said he really values his role as he feels he is helping ensure patients’ voices do make a difference to local hospitals.

John is one of 30 people who make up  the Council of Governors representing the public voice at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust meetings. Healthwatch is also represented on the Patient Experience Group at UHBW.  He says Healthwatch’s patient feedback reports have been an integral part of the discussions of patient experience at Trust meetings at all levels including the hospital board meetings.

He said: “Healthwatch’s reports are responded to, what patients tell us does get passed on. We want to work on showing people the changes their comments have actually brought about.  The more examples we give people of the effect Healthwatch has had locally, the more people will value Healthwatch.”
